Nestled into that special place that is the amazing Valle d'Itria, in the center of the Apulia, among the villages of Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Cisternino, shining by light and colors and enveloped by the Mediterranean smells, here rises the ancient Masseria Madonna dell'Arco, that preserves its estates that host 23 hectares of fields, vineyards, olive groves, pastures and rich woods of Macedonian oaks and century old oaks, where freely graze horses and cows, pigs, sheeps and a lot of examples of the famous martinese donkeys.

Ancient building dated back to the XVII century, the Masseria, turned into an equipped farm holiday, offers the chance to live a comfortable and relaxing stay in its apartments and in its typical "trulli", and to taste a really excellent cooking, that proposes the best traditional dishes and some modern tastes.

The beautiful and various surroundings, will let our Guests to enrich their stay by experiencing amazing trekkings in the Valle d'Itria and the close villages, that are famous all over the world thanks to their artistic and landscape heritage. Do not forget the position of our large farm, in the center of the Region, that allow to reach, in few minutes and thanks to excellent roads, other places of interest in the Apulia: Ostuni, Taranto, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, Bari, Brindisi and the wonderful Lecce...

Livestock

The Masseria Madonna dell'Arco is well known thanks to its rearings of dairy animals or meat animals. In the pastures, in the Mediterranean scrub, in the oaks wood and into the century-old olive groves, freely pasture horses and donkeys, pigs, sheeps and cows. Natural food and the freedom our animals have, are the best guarantee for the high quality of meat and milk. Meat is consumed fresh (do not miss the sliced fillet of beef and the sausages "a punta di coltello", cooked on Macedonian oak and olive tree embers), or turned into that delicacies that have made the Murgia known among who loves good food and Mediterranean tastes.

Didactics

Didactic Masseria represents a moment of connection between the city and the country; a direct communication tool between the farmer and the citizen, starting from the new generations, to let them know the animals, the origin of food, and inspire their critical spirit and curiosity. A way for the youngest to discover the social and economic importance of a too much often underestimated profession.

Visits at our Masseria are precious occasions to learn and grow and have to be promoted both from the farm business and the education. The Masseria Madonna dell'Arco is the right place to give its visitors a true image of the life in the fields and in the pastures, bringing the visitors in touch with all the different rearing phases and that ones of the procession of the country products.

The Masseria is always at Insitutions' and privates' disposal to plan the kind of itinerary and train the students and the visitors, by arranging a didactic path and by giving the didactic and explicative support material.
